The Dallas Cowboys, or some version of them, begin a win-or-bust season, though perhaps not a win-or-bust preseason, when they kick off their exhibition slate against the Los Angeles Rams Sunday, Aug. 11, at SoFi Stadium.
Dallas is usually indifferent to winning in the preseason and hasn’t indicated it will play its stars, and that’s usually true for the Rams as well. They’ve gone 1-8 in the last three preseasons.
The Cowboys will be looking for some receivers with CeeDee Lamb holding out and will check out how their rookie offensive linemen do after Dallas made that a priority in the draft. This is also another chance for backup quarterback Cooper Rush to show his value and for third-teamer Trey Lance to make his move.
