“Steve Kerr ain’t coaching sh*t” – Dennis Rodman blasts his former teammate’s coaching abilities

Rodman went viral for his harsh take on Steve Kerr.

Over the last decade, the Golden State Warriors achieved great success in the NBA. The trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green have received most of the credit for winning four NBA championships.

One name synonymous with the Dubs’ success is head coach Steve Kerr. Kerr has been with the team since the 2014-15 season and is considered the mastermind behind the Warriors” championship runs.

However, his former Chicago Bulls teammate, Dennis Rodman, doesn’t think Kerr is an elite NBA coach. In fact, the legendary forward took a shot at Steve for riding the success of the Warriors superteam.

“Steve Kerr ain’t coaching sh*t,” Rodman said in a video posted by a Reddit user. “Steve Kerr is having a good time. He ain’t coaching. He’s just having a good time. He just sitting there watching them kids shoot. That’s all he is doing. He ain’t doing a damn thing.”

Bulls teammates

The Bulls dynasty dominated the 1990s, winning six NBA championships in six trips to the finals. While Michael Jordan was the true superstar during the Bulls’ memorable title runs, their historic run wouldn’t have been possible without quality role players on the roster, including Rodman and Kerr.

The two were teammates during the Bulls’ second three-peat run from 1996 to 1998. “The Worm” was known for his elite defensive and rebounding ability, which made his on and off-court shenanigans worth tolerating. On the other hand, Kerr was known for his amazing 3-point shooting ability. In fact, the former NBA star’s deep range saved the Bulls multiple times, with Steve hitting a huge shot in the 1997 NBA Finals to defeat the Utah Jazz in Game 6.

Kerr is facing criticism about coaching Team USA

Not many people would agree with Rodman’s criticism of Kerr, although his run with Team USA so far has created some doubters.

While Steve and Co. didn’t lose any exhibition games ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, the team was tested a few times, most notably against South Sudan, an opponent everyone predicted would be blown out by the U.S. squad. As a result, some pointed out that perhaps Kerr shouldn’t have succeeded Gregg Popovich as the head coach of Team USA.

Considering that, it’s no surprise that a video of Rodman taking a shot at Kerr has resurfaced on social media. One way that the Warriors coach can silence his doubters, however, is to lead Team USA to a stunning campaign in the Olympics. After all, with the roster they have, anything else would be a big disappointment.
