Dallas Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb ‘Speaks’ About Contract Status

Those of us expecting CeeDee Lamb to hold football camps benefitting the youth of Texas are in luck. But if you’re hoping the Dallas Cowboys’ receiver to update fans on his status for upcoming training camp, don’t hold your breath.

The Cowboys will open training camp in Oxnard on July 23. But because of a contract holdout, the record-setting receiver will likely not report. He has yet to publicly address his status this offseason.

In the run-up to camp, Lamb is hosting Youth Football Camps across Texas: Tuesday in Round Rock, Wednesday in Richmond and July 20 in Arlington.

In response to a social media post on Monday speculating that Lamb would speak about his contract situation, Lamb with a definitive answer about not answering.

“I’m not speaking about any contract negotiations, if that’s your questions,” Lamb tweeted. “You’ll get 0 answers. It’s about the kids.”

In a quietly turbulent offseason featuring no action by the Cowboys on big upcoming contracts to quarterback Dak Prescott and linebacker Micah Parsons, Lamb also heads into camp with uncertainty. He is scheduled to make $18 million in the final season of his contract.

Lamb earned All-Pro last season with 135 receptions for a career-high 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson reset the wide receiver market at the beginning of June by signing a four-year, $140 million deal.

He said in January that he would “likely” like to be the highest-paid receiver in the NFL.
