USA’s 2024 Paris Olympics roster also features Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis, Jayson Tatum, Joel Embiid, Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, Bam Adebayo, Jrue Holiday and Devin Booker.
Unlike previous rosters that lacked star power, this year’s Team USA includes bona fide NBA superstars who have committed to competing.
Team USA, aiming for a fifth straight Olympic gold medal, has won four consecutive gold medals.
Players began arriving on Thursday, with Curry, who will be participating in his first Olympics, being the first to arrive.
Steve Kerr says Team USA has a ‘good’ problem with star-studded roster
With the USA filled with NBA stars who are starters for their teams, coach Steve Kerr faces the challenge of deciding who will start in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Kerr sees this as a good problem to have.
One of the USA team’s major acquisitions is the 2023 NBA MVP, Joel Embiid, who chose to join the team despite receiving interest from France and Cameroon.
The frontcourt has been a weak point for the USA, as evidenced by their performance in the FIBA World Cup where they finished fourth. But now they have Embiid and Anthony Davis.
Team USA will play its first exhibition game against Canada in Las Vegas, followed by games in Abu Dhabi against Australia and Serbia, and in London against South Sudan and Germany.
Team USA will open Olympic play on July 28 against Serbia.
