Patrick Mahomes couldn’t stop talking about his forgotten pants after failing to put them on for practice this week.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is gearing up for what he hopes will be a three-peat Super Bowl season, but he will have to do a better job of remembering to put his gear on as he had to take some time to sort himself out after a mild brainfart.
Cameras caught Mahomes rambling on about his pants, asking teammates and other staffers if the fact that he wasn’t wearing them seemed obvious.
“Oh dude, I didn’t put my pants on,” he said. “You think anyone notices? I forgot my pants pads. Maybe he’ll think my quads are so big that they look like pants. I look like an idiot now, dude.”
He eventually abandoned the idea of faking it and went to get them.

While he did have his actual pants on, Mahomes forgot to put the protective pads footballers wear under them.
Fans Were Loving Patrick Mahomes’ Reaction To Forgetting His Pads
As you might imagine, social media enjoyed this.
“Another case… Patrick didn’t bring pants for Patrick,” one fan joked.
“Pat acting dumb in training camp, we are so back,” another observed.
“Nagy with the subtle burn,” someone pointed out.
“Love him,” another wrote.
“This is a fine example of ‘I didn’t know I needed this in my life today,’”
“Honestly, this is a releasable offense, Wentz is now our QB1,” a user suggested.
Patrick Mahomes is usually all business, but he also has a great sense of humor, as you can see.
He’s looking to mount a serious charge on an unprecedented three-straight title wins next season and will kick things off against the team the Chiefs beat in the AFC Championship Game, the Baltimore Ravens, on September 5.
