Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards and Team USA secured the gold medal in Paris, but apparently couldn’t celebrate much with their teammates afterward.
Edwards and Durant spoke at the star-studded Fanatics Fest event in New York City this week where the 23-year-old Minnesota Timberwolves star shared some details on the situation.
New York-based reporter Aliyah Funschelle posted a video montage to X with highlights from the Edwards-Durant panel conversation hosted by Jalen Rose.

At the 0:29 mark, Edwards admitted to the audience that Olympic drug testing kept the trio of NBA stars from soaking in their accomplishment in the moments after leaving the court.
“We couldn’t even really celebrate in the locker room, for real, because me, him and Steph had to take like a drug test or something,” Edwards said to Rose.
Rose jokingly responded, “It’s only right they gave Steph one the way he closed that deal. That was crazy.”
The 36-year-old Curry led Team USA with 24 points in the closeout game against host nation France. His electric fourth quarter, including four three-pointers in the span of 2:12, sealed the United States’ 17th men’s basketball gold with a 98-87 win.
Curry also posted a game-high 36 points (nine three-pointers) in a four-point win over Serbia in the semi-finals.

“He’s supposed to got (a drug test) after the first Serbia game,” Edwards joked to the crowd.
