NBA vet drops polarizing take on where Kevin Durant ranks among his past teammates

Nine-year NBA veteran Chandler Parsons gave a polarizing take on Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant on “Run It Back,” FanDuel’s flagship NBA show. Parsons’ take is that “Kevin Durant has been the best player on every team he’s been on.”

Durant — a two-time NBA Finals MVP — has played with some of the best to ever lace ’em up.

Durant has played with NBA MVPs Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City) and James Harden (Oklahoma City and Brooklyn). He played with two-time NBA MVP Steph Curry (Golden State) and three-time All-NBA selection Kyrie Irving (Brooklyn). Now with Phoenix, Durant is playing with two-time All-NBA selection Devin Booker, and also played in Phoenix with 11-time All-NBA selection Chris Paul.

If the subject is simply “teams,” then how about Durant’s Olympics teammates?

The first-ballot and future first-ballot Basketball Hall of Famers Durant has played with for Team USA include four-time NBA MVP LeBron James. Perhaps Parsons meant only NBA teams, but it is high praise for Durant regardless. Despite four scoring titles and 11 All-NBA selections, winning a championship with the ringless Suns would perhaps be the strongest line on his resume in these conversations.
