Travis Kelce has always backed himself as a stylish individual but his Kansas City Chiefs teammate has revealed how Taylor Swift has made one big change to his appearance.
Kelce started dating Swift last year – the couple confirmed their relationship when she appeared at Chiefs game last September in his suite, alongside his mom Donna.
Now, as the Chiefs gear up for a shot at an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl, quarterback Mahomes revealed how he thinks Swift might have caused another change in Kelce’s appearance.
As part of a wider answer about his team in an interview with NFL Radio, Mahomes said: ‘You got the old man (Kelce). I’ve been trying to get him to grow his hair out and all of a sudden, Taylor gets him to do it.’
Kelce has been sporting slightly longer hair in the Chiefs camp as they build up to the start of the new season – as well as a moustache.
The Swifties were quick to lap up Mahomes’ comment across social media. The clip in question was shared across X, with one Swift fan saying: ‘I too would do anything Taylor asked.’
A different fan replied saying: ‘Pat is so random! That had nothing to do with what they were talking about, but he is giving the people what they want.’
The Chiefs begin their new season on September 5 with a blockbuster opening game against Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium.
No team has ever three-peated before in NFL history, meaning Mahomes and Kelce have a huge opportunity ahead of them.
‘It wasn’t like we have talked about it openly but after the Super Bowl (this year in Vegas) you saw that we were saying that we have got to go and do it,’ Mahomes added.
‘But since we’ve gotten back, it’s just football. I mean, we know what the process is – the day by day process of just getting better.
‘This is the hardest week for us, coming back to St. Joseph (the practice camp) after that first preseason game. You saw guys feisty out there today. Guys want to be great and I think that’s the best thing about it.’
Mahomes was even caught on camera splitting up a minor brawl between a couple of Chiefs players on Tuesday.
Mahomes joked about Kelce being ‘the old man’ given he is one the older players in the team at age 34.
Kelce signed a new two-year Chiefs contract in the offseason, worth in the region of $17million a year for him to remain in Kansas City for what will almost certainly be the rest of his career.
