The inclusion of the ‘NBA Cup tournament’ last season has been an exciting watch for fans around the world. The Los Angeles Lakers were the winners of the NBA Cup last season and did not lose a single game in their run. They continued that form this season as well until they met the Phoenix Suns most recently on Tuesday night.

After losing to the Suns 127-100 on Tuesday, the Lakers finally lost their first NBA Cup game. In a tale that paralleled the game against the Nuggets, the Lakers had a poor third quarter after a strong first half against the Suns side. Not only that, their star man LeBron James had his shot blocked by Suns star Bradley Beal, which left the NBA community stunned.

After witnessing the block, many were left questioning regarding James’ fitness and how much he has left in the tank after all. One fan wrote on X, “Lebron looks old and tired. Homie has had a great career. But he’s been been talking a lot about retirement lately and it’s probably on his mind.” He also had a poor outing in general scoring only 18 points with 10 assists and eight rebounds.

His teammate and star defender, Anthony Davis dominated with five assists, four blocks, a steal, 15 rebounds, and 25 points. Contributing 15 points on 6–12 shooting was Austin Reaves. However, it was the Suns and their star man Devin Booker, who was the star performer of the game. He dropped 26 points and 10 assists on the Lakers.

Fans left stunned after 6′ 4″ Bradley Beal blocks 6′ 9″ LeBron James

The Phoenix Suns hosted the Los Angeles Lakers in Arizona on November 26th in an NBA Cup game. The court was bombarded with stars like Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Bradley Beal, etc. Both sides provided a good matchup as the Suns came out victorious. However, it was Beal’s block on LeBron James’ shot that stole the headlines among NBA fans.

Many fans were left surprised that a 6’4″ Beal blocked a 6’9″ James’ shot. They took to various social media apps to put forward their views regarding James and his shot. One fan wrote on X, “A taste of his own medicine” while another fan wrote on X, “Lebron needs to leave this team send him to a contender.” Check out some of the reactions below:

On the other hand, Suns stars Durant and Beal stepped up for their sides. Both scored 23 points each and provided 2 assists. The Suns are (10-7) in the West, similar to the Lakers’ record this season. It will be fascinating to observe how both sides perform going forward into the 2024-25 NBA season.
