Frustrated Cowboys fans have called for owner Jerry Jones to sack head coach Mike McCarthy
But Jones is keeping the faith with the former Green Bay Packers coach
McCarthy’s troops are currently on a 0-5 run at AT&T Stadium, a slump which has prompted calls for the former Green Bay Packers chief to be fired.
But Jones is keeping the faith in McCarthy and his team, saying when asked if he thinks the players still have belief in their leader: “Yes I do.
“Yes, I do. That’s overblown. That losing the team stuff, that’s so overblown.
“First of all, they’re natural competitors.
“Secondly, they’re so proud of the fact that they’re professionals. Disappointed?
“Disappointed in maybe the way they executed a play, but not anything that’s brother or first cousin to give up.
“That’s not in that locker room. Really, it’s not.
“Everybody is certainly disappointed. But that’s a big difference (from) not knowing you got to put the foot in front of the other and go.”
He later added: “You don’t need to worry about anybody in that locker room giving everything they’ve got and more.
“And how bad they feel when they get beat on a play or get beat in a quarter or the whole game, at all.

“I don’t ever worry about that.”
Jones hasn’t hesitated to wield the axe over the years, although he admits he may have been premature with some of his past firings.
He said of his 2010 firing of Wade Phillips: “I’ve regretted that. That’s the music I’m listening to.”
Despite the Cowboys’ poor run of form, Jones believes McCarthy and his charges will soon turn the corner.
The 82-year-old said: “There is good coming out of this.
“You don’t see it because we’re not winning games.
“But there’s young men that are getting an opportunity to do more and I do believe it’ll pay forward.
“It needs to hurry the hell up, because we need it in six days.”
