Is Steph Curry playing tonight against Utah Jazz? Latest on Golden State Warriors 4xNBA champion’s status (Oct. 25)

Steph Curry is doubtful for the Golden State Warriors’ second game of the 2024-25 season against the Utah Jazz on Friday. According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the four-time NBA champion is listed as questionable due to a right hip contusion. The Warriors are also monitoring the condition of veteran Draymond Green, who sustained a right knee contusion.

Slater noted that Green left the locker room with a noticeable limp and a compression sleeve after taking a hit to the knee in the season opener against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday. Furthermore, offseason addition De’Anthony Melton is listed as doubtful due to discomfort from a chest contusion.

Meanwhile, Curry spearheaded the Warriors’ dominant performance in their season opener, guiding the team to a commanding 140-104 victory on the road to tip off the new season in style.

The two-time league MVP posted an impressive stat line with 17 points, nine rebounds, 10 assists and two steals, shooting 4-for-10 from the field, including 3-for-7 from beyond the arc.

Steph Curry fires direct command to teammates

Following the Warriors’ season-opening win, coach Steve Kerr discussed plans to regularly rotate 12 players. In response, Steph Curry acknowledged that the rotation would likely tighten as the season progresses but urged his teammates to maintain high energy and set aside personal egos for the team’s success.

“I’m sure there’s going to be a little bit of narrowing down of rotation at some point, depending on how things materialize, but that’s not for us to worry about right now,” Curry said.

“You have to have commitment. No agendas, no egos. Well, healthy egos. If it’s not your night, you can’t bring the team down with your energy. I haven’t seen any red flags with that.”
