Draymond Green Calls LeBron James, Kevin Durant, And Carmelo Anthony GOATs Of Team USA

Draymond Green thinks LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Carmelo Anthony are the greatest basketball Olympians in history.

Draymond Green has shared his verdict on who are the greatest basketball Olympians in the history of the sport. He believes LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Carmelo Anthony deserve to be recognized as the best performers for the USA at the Olympic level.

“KD and Bron, what they’re doing from a statistical standpoint, if they win this medal, you have to ask yourself the question, ‘Are they the greatest Olympians from a basketball perspective in history?’ The answer to that question is. yes, they are, along with Carmelo Anthony.”

Green elaborated on what Melo said before claiming that the USA doesn’t even need to win a Gold medal for LeBron and KD to further secure their legacy.

“People tend to forget fast what ‘Melo did for Team USA. Bronze medal, Gold, Gold, and Gold. Melo is 1000% in that category along with KD and Bron… They don’t even need to close out the Gold medal and they’re still the greatest Olympic players we’ve had in our program.”

These are the three most defining names to have played in the Olympics in the modern-era. Durant arguably ranks ahead as the greatest Team USA Player ever, standing three wins away from becoming the first player to win the Gold at four consecutive Olympics. He has scored 435 points over three Olympics, holding various all-time records such as points per game and points scored.

Before Durant brought home the Gold in 2020, most people referred to Carmelo Anthony as the Team USA GOAT, playing four straight Olympics between 2004 and 2016. He only won three Gold medals over those appearance but put up 336 points in the Olympics.

LeBron James (273 points) will be hoping to pass Carmelo as Team USA’s second-leading Olympics scorer this year, likely his last time wearing the team USA colors. James has averaged 11.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists at the Olympics, playing every position that the coaching staff could fit him into die to his versatility andportability.

Draymond Green Would Pick The 2024 USA Team Over The Dream Team

Draymond Green heavily favors the current era of basketball, the same era he’s been playing in. He knows the entirety of Team USA and their play-styles intimately, and he used that knowledge to assert that the 2024 Team USA is much better than the iconic 1992 Dream Team.

“This 2024 team are definitely drawing those comparisons to the Dream Team and quite frankly, I’m taking the 2024 team seven days a week. I think the 2024 Team beats the Dream Team five out of seven games. Gotta give the Dream Team some respect. They got GOATs, we get it. They’ve got Hall of Famers, we get it.

“I just think the versatility on that team, the star power, the scoring, I don’t think the Dream Team can do anything with that. Now, if the Dream Team had (Shaquille O’Neal) on it and not Christian Laettner, maybe a different story. And that’s why I don’t think the Dream Team could come close. I wouldn’t say come close, a 10-point loss. Double digits by 2024 Team USA, you can book it.”

Green does have a good point about Shaquille O’Neal being missing from the 1992 team, but a match between these two American teams might be too incredible to handle for the average fan.
