Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys have not had the year many were expecting before the 2024 NFL season began.
After jumping to a 3-2 start, the Cowboys dropped five straight games, falling to 3-7 through 11 weeks. Now, they sit at 6-8, and a fourth-straight postseason appearance is a longshot.
To add insult to injury, quarterback Dak Prescott’s season came to an end after suffering a hamstring injury during that stretch. Entering Week 16, Dallas still has a slight chance to make the playoffs. However, it would need a miracle.
With a high draft pick expected for Jerry Jones and company, the Cowboys have a lot of needs to fill to improve their roster. One of those is the linebacker position, as DeMarvion Overshown is expected to miss most of the 2025 season after suffering a severe knee injury.
Ian Valentino of the 33rd Team believes he has the perfect solution for Dallas in the upcoming 2025 NFL draft. In his latest mock, Valentino has the Cowboys selecting Georgia Bulldogs linebacker/edge rusher Jalon Walker with the No. 14 pick. This would pair him with Parsons on a potentially elite Dallas pass rush.

“Dallas previously found success with a versatile defender in Micah Parsons, so it makes sense that they’d bank on athleticism and instincts once again,” Valentino said. “Jalon Walker is a terrific linebacker with the strength and speed to be a third-down pass-rusher. With recent draft picks at linebacker flaming out, spending a premium pick who can play all over is justified.”
Similar to Parsons at Penn State, Walker has proven to be a versatile defender during his time with Georgia. In three seasons, the junior out of Salisbury, North Carolina, has tallied 87 tackles, two passes defended, 12.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
During the 2024 season, Walker led the Bulldogs to the No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoff with the win over Texas in the SEC Championship Game. He also earned first-team All-American honors.
If Walker were to take his talents to Dallas, there would be nobody better to learn from than Parsons.
