Cowboys look to contain Kirk Cousins in order to snap losing streak

The Dallas Cowboys enter its game against the Atlanta Falcons riding a three game losing streak headed into week nine of the season.

The Falcons are coming off of a big win against Tampa Bay where quarterback Kirk Cousin recorded four touchdowns, 284-yards passing, going 23-for-29. Following this performance Cousin was named the NFC offensive player of the week.

Dallas’ defense will have a tough task ahead and look to contain Cousins in order to pick up its first win since four. The team is still without linebacker Micah Parsons and will possibly be without cornerback Trevon Diggs who’s dealing with a calf injury.

“The defense has got to get takeaways by getting pressure on the quarterback and this week they need to get pressure on Kirk Cousins,” said Dallas Insider, Mikey Spagnola. “They know where Kirk Cousins is going to be. He’ll be in the pocket, he doesn’t scramble, he doesn’t have prescribed runs. They need to get pressure on him to force some mistakes. It’s nothing new, they’ve just got to do it better.”

Preventing the team’s own takeaways will be another focus ahead of Sunday giving up two interceptions in the Cowboys last three games. Taking care of the ball will also provide Dallas with more possession time keeping Cousins and company off of the field limiting his ability.

Dallas will travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons Sunday, Nov. 3 at 11:00 a.m. MT.
