Anthony Davis says he wants to be ‘dominant every game’ this season

Anthony Davis had a marvelous preseason for the Los Angeles Lakers this month, and it looks like he’s perhaps already in midseason form. He’s coming off the best season of his NBA career, as well as a successful run with Team USA men’s basketball in the Summer Olympics that resulted in a gold medal.

Davis continues to be underappreciated and disrespected by some fans and pundits. But his excellence is undeniable, and as long as he avoids major injury, he should have another outstanding season.

On Sunday, he told the media that his mentality this year is to be “dominant every game.”

Davis averaged 24.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.3 blocked shots a game last season while appearing in a career-high 76 games. He played in four exhibition games this month, and on Thursday versus the Phoenix Suns, he went for 35 points while knocking down four 3-pointers in nine attempts.

The Lakers’ regular season starts on Tuesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Crypto.com Arena.
