Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James shook the NBA world and his fans with his latest social media announement.
Sports media has been questioned lately, especially the media covering the NBA. Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James threw a few jabs at the sports media. This was before making a shock announcement regarding his social media handles. Interestingly, many believe the NBA media has covered the sport via ‘negative takes.’
Reposting a message from Kevin Durant’s agent Rich Kleiman, the Los Angeles Lakers star explained how the NBA media has changed its coverage of the sport to include “negative takes.” James and Lakers head coach JJ Redick‘s podcast was notably mentioned in Kleiman’s essay as “the future of what his can and should all be.”
However, James was moved by Klieman’s post on X and made his shocking announcement. Also, James announced that he is ‘taking a break’ from social media.

And with that said I’ll holla at y’all! Getting off social media for the time being. Y’all take care.

James is used to taking a breather from social media. Similarly, he implemented “Zero Dark thirty-23,” a time before the NBA playoffs where he would stop using social media to concentrate on winning a championship, for a large portion of his career.
In his 22nd NBA season, James is performing admirably. He has averaged 23.5 points, 9.4 assists, and 8.1 rebounds per game. This is a remarkable achievement for a player approaching 40 years of age next month. Not only James but Redick also gave an understanding of what happens to his podcasting duties.
JJ Redick provides a ‘clear’ stance on podcasting after being appointed as Lakers HC
The Los Angeles Lakers appointed JJ Redick as their new head coach ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season. However, before being appointed as head coach, Redick was the host of the Old Man & Three podcast as well as the Mind the Game Podcast alongside LeBron James.
Managing the podcast and the Lakers job remains a difficult task. Given that, Redick provided a clear stance on his podcasting career after being appointed as Lakers HC.
And with that said I’ll holla at y’all! Getting off social media for the time being. Y’all take care ✌🏾👑

For the time being and hopefully it’s a very very long time, I’m excommunicated from the content space so there would be no podcast… I’m done with podcasting for now.
JJ Redick told the media
As the head coach of the Lakers, Redick faces a special challenge. With LeBron James and Anthony Davis at the forefront, the team has the talent to perform better. However, last season, they only managed one postseason victory. Naturally, Redick will try to change that to win the team’s 18th championship in franchise history.
