Lakers’ Anthony Davis Ring Walks with Floyd Mayweather Before John Gotti Fight

Floyd Mayweather had a special guest with him as he walked to the ring to face John Gotti III on Saturday.

The legendary boxer was accompanied by Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis as he stepped into the ring in Mexico.

Though Mayweather officially retired in 2017 when he defeated Conor McGregor in 10 rounds, the “best ever” has been active in exhibition matches, participating in seven fights since 2018. Three of those were wins, two were non-scored and one, against Gotti in 2023, ended in a no-contest.

There was plenty of drama in the last meeting between Mayweather and Gotti. The fight was stopped in the sixth round after plenty of back and forth that resulted in several fights between the two boxers’ respective parties.

When it was announced Mayweather and Gotti would face off again, plenty of anticipation started to build around the fight. After the last fight ended in a no-contest, Saturday’s fight will have plenty of implications.

Mayweather had plenty of power as he entered the ring, and he’ll hope Davis’ presence will give him an edge.
