Tom Brady has shared his list of the top four quarterbacks in the NFL right heading into the 2024 season, 23 days before he debuts as an analyst for FOX Sports.
The 47-year-old Tom Brady attended the Fanatics Fest event in New York City on Friday. As part of the event, he participated in a Q&A segment with longtime ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith.
During the Q&A session, Brady listed his top four current quarterbacks in the NFL. Smith wanted the seven-time Super Bowl champion to name his top five, but Brady only listed his top four.
Brady’s picks are Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs), Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills), Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens) and Joe Burow (Cincinnati Bengals). Smith took the opportunity to throw in Aaron Rodgers’ name as the fifth QB.
Tom Brady went 3-3 in six meetings against Mahomes, with two of those victories coming in the 2018 AFC Championship and Super Bowl 55. Brady swept Allen 4-0 in their four regular season meetings but went 0-2 against Jackson’s Ravens and 0-1 vs. Burrow.
It’s hard to debate Mahomes’ status as the top QB in the game, with three Super Bowl rings, three Super Bowl MVPs and two regular season MVPs. But surely, fans will have lots to say over Brady’s other choices for the top QBs.
Tom Brady Now Gets To Analyze His Former Opponents
Looking at the marquee games on FOX’s 2024 NFL broadcasting schedule, it’s highly likely that Brady will be on the call for Mahomes, Allen and Jackson at least once. The Bengals only have three games on FOX, and none of them feel like “America’s Game of the Week” candidates for Brady and Kevin Burkhardt to call (at Carolina Panthers, vs. Las Vegas Raiders and at Tennessee Titans).
Brady will debut as an NFL analyst on Sept. 8, when he, Burkhardt and sideline reporter Erin Andrews call the Cleveland Browns’ Week 1 home game against the Dallas Cowboys.
