I don’t know how Rob Pelinka can possibly watch how LeBron James and Anthony Davis are playing in the 2024 Paris Olympics and not do everything he can to surround them with a better roster. The two LA Lakers stars might be playing better basketball than anybody on Team USA.

While LeBron is rightfully getting most of the attention for his game-saving performance against Germany, Davis is also playing out of his mind. The Anthony Davis stats are impressive, but one his biggest accomplishments is just barely starting to make the rounds even though it’s been the case for years.

For those who didn’t know, Davis is the only basketball player ever to win a FIBA World Cup, an Olympic gold medal, an NCAA championship and an NBA championship. He’s truly won big at every level.



With many of the best NBA players only spending a year or two in college, not a lot of them have won an NCAA championship and that’s not something you can get once you leave. There are actually only a small number of players who have won both an NBA championship and an NCAA championship let alone an Olympic gold medal and a FIBA World Cup.

Davis gets a hard time from many NBA fans due to his injury history but there’s no doubt that he’s going to go down as one of the greatest basketball players ever.

What’s Going on With Team USA?

USA basketball easily has the best roster of any team in the Olympics. They’ve been widely expected to dominate every game but that hasn’t been the case. The last two games from Team USA have been very concerning.



They barely pulled off a 101-100 win over South Sudan. They followed that up with another lackluster 92-88 win over Germany that they may have lost if it weren’t for LeBron James deciding to take over the game.

Team USA needs to get its act together because losing any game on the world stage would be a massive embarrassment. Somebody not named LeBron or Anthony Davis needs to step up. If not, the USA could struggle. You don’t want to be part of the Team USA roster that doesn’t win the gold.
