The team’s executive vice president Stephen Jones acknowledged the delicate financial balancing act the organization must undertake. “We have to walk a precarious financial tightrope,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of managing the salary cap carefully as he already retained key players such as Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb.

“It’s going to be really, really tight. We still have some money left over from some guys who are not here today, and we’re going to have some other guys that won’t be here in the future that you’re still going to have their cap count,” he added. It doesn’t look like many moves of real impact will be made.



Fans and the media have not taken it well

Critics have recently suggested that team owner Jerry Jones might be hesitant to meet the demands of top coaching candidates like Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who is reportedly seeking a lucrative five-year contract worth $125 million.

The Cowboys’ financial constraints are exacerbated by substantial dead cap space and the need to re-sign or extend contracts for several of their star players. This situation complicates their ability to pursue high-priced talent, both on the field and within the coaching staff.



As the Cowboys’ front office strategizes for the upcoming season, fans and analysts are keenly observing how the team will address these challenges.
