For lovers of the seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, and for watch lovers, this week is a not-to-be-missed event. Beginning on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Sotheby’s in New York, and lasting until auction day on Tuesday the 10, all of the items going up for bid as part of Sotheby’s “The GOAT Collection: Watches & Treasures from Tom Brady” will be on exhibit.

The exhibit showcases dozens of sports memorabilia and personal possessions belonging to the legendary football quarterback Tom Brady. Sport highlights include the 2019 New England Patriots Game helmet he wore during his final game with that team (expected to sell for between $40,000 and $60,000) and a 2021 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jersey he wore when breaking the NFL Career Passing Yards record. That is expected to fetch $400,000 to $600,000.

The watches all vary in estimated values, but an ultra-rare 1969 Rolex Daytona Paul Newman “John Player Special” version that Brady owned and wore is supposed to sell for between $600,000 and $900,000. Similarly, a unique Audemars Piguet Royal Oak worn during the Netflix Special Roast of Tom Brady may have a hammer price of between $400,000 and $800,000. The various Richard Mille watches are expected to sell for anywhere from $250,000 to $500,000.

There are several Patek Philippe watches, as well, that may have collectors rushing the field. Among them: a stainless steel and gold Nautilus ($50,000-$100,000) and a 1917 Grand Complication pocket watch ($200,000- $400,000) in yellow gold with minute repeater, perpetual calendar and split-seconds moon phase indications. These should sell for the higher end of the estimated price spectrum.
