Warriors Injury Report: Massive Stephen Curry and Brandin Podziemski Update Ahead of Season Opener in Portland

The NBA season is finally upon us and the Warriors are heading into it undefeated. Yes, Steve Kerr’s squad did not lose even a single game during the preseason and looked in great form despite the massive revamp. And they hope to carry this momentum to tomorrow’s season opener against the Trail Blazers. But there were concerns regarding Stephen Curry and Brandin Podziemski’s availability for the game because of their recent injuries. However, Dub Nation can breathe a sigh of relief following the latest update on the two stars.

Surprisingly, the Warriors are going into the season opener with a blank injury report. That means both Steph and Podz who were banged up a few days ago have completely recovered and have been cleared to suit up tomorrow. Similarly, the rest of the squad is also healthy and ready to go.

Well, the Baby-Faced Assassin jammed his finger in the first half of the game against the Kings. Sure enough, he sat out for the rest of the game and finished the night with only 6 points. Moreover, he even missed the following game due to the injury. While Steph played in only four preseason games, he looked in great form and averaged eleven points in limited minutes. And there is no doubt that he will continue that form in the regular season, especially after his recent Paris Olympics heroics.

On the other hand, Brandin had been dealing with a broken nose ever since he took an accidental elbow to the face from Trayce Jackson-Davis during the Pistons game. But in the five games that he played, he looked in decent form, averaging nearly ten points. Surely, the Warriors will be at a huge advantage tomorrow with both their stars returning healthy.

Warriors Depth Chart ahead of 2024-25 season

With their two stars back and no one else on the injury report, Steve Kerr will have ton of flexibility in his lineup for the season opener. And this is what the team’s depth chart looks like:

Position Starters 2nd 3rd
PG Stephen Curry Brandin Podziemski Pat Spencer
SG De’Anthony Melton Buddy Hield Reece Beekman
SF Andrew Wiggins Moses Moody Gary Payton II
PF Jonathan Kuminga Kyle Anderson Quinten Post
C Draymond Green Trayce Jackson-Davis Kevon Looney

Well, ever since Klay’s departure, Kerr has been experimenting with multiple starting lineups to find the most productive combination to put on the floor. So, it is not certain which five players will start the game tomorrow. However, going by what we have seen so far, the starting five is likely to include: Stephen Curry, De’Anthony Melton, Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, and Draymond Green. Moreover, the Blazers are a relatively easy team to face for their first game. So, Kerr could continue experimenting with his rotation tomorrow as well. Who do you think will start the game for the Warriors?
