Kevin Durant has two NBA Championships, four scoring titles, and is a 14-time All-Star, yet he’s only ever won league MVP once. Despite that MVP award coming over 10 years ago, there still hasn’t been a more memorable acceptance since, thanks to his impassioned speech crediting his mother, Wanda, who he famously dubbed “The Real MVP.”
Now, Nike and Durant are planning to reference that moment with a new colorway of the Nike KD 4 retro.
Leaker solesbyzay_backup has shared a first look at the upcoming colorway, which dons a blue upper with a white mesh underlay and a white strap. Additional details include a three-dimensional gold basketball on the tongue, a net-like texture on the upper, and “You the real MVP” printed on the insole.
Durant primarily wore the Nike KD 6 during his MVP season, but the more popular KD 4 gets the nod here. The release is yet to be confirmed by Nike or Durant, but the leaker account says to expect a launch in spring 2025.
