The 2014 league MVP and two-time NBA champion spent his special day in attendance watching the Washington Commanders play against the Arizona Cardinals for their Week 4 matchup
Durant, born in Washington D.C., supported his hometown team as they won their third straight game. The first quarter of the Commanders-Cardinals game was close as both teams scored a touchdown but things started to turn in the Commanders’ favor in the second.
The Commanders’ offense scored a rushing touchdown and a field goal while their defense held the Cardinals scoreless to end the first half with a 17-7 lead. The Cardinals scored one more touchdown in the third quarter and were held scoreless again in the fourth. Meanwhile, the Commanders kept finding the endzone.
After the game, KD made a post on X celebrating the Commanders’ victory.
The Commanders won 42-14 and are now 3-1 after winning three straight. Their only loss of the season was in the first week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Since then, they have beaten the New York Giants, Cincinnati Bengals, and now the Arizona Cardinals with Kevin Durant in attendance.
Washington Commanders part-owner Magic Johnson is with Kevin Durant for his birthday
Kevin Durant wasn’t the only NBA great in attendance during the Commanders-Cardinals game. KD attended the game with Magic Johnson who was there to celebrate the Suns’ forward’s 36th birthday.
Magic, who is a part owner of the Commanders, shared a photo with KD on X (formerly Twitter). The duo were also with several other entrepreneurs whom Magic named in his post.
Aside from posting an image with KD and other businessmen, Magic also shared an image of birthday cakes for the celebrant. The LA Laker legend also included a brief birthday message for KD in his other post.
Magic Johnson became a part owner of the Washington Commanders in 2023. The purchasing group was led by Josh Harris who bought the franchise for six billion dollars from Daniel Snyder.
Harris is also a part owner of the Philadelphia 76ers and the NHL’s New Jersey Devils.
Ex-NBA player Jamal Crawford shares birthday greeting for Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant also got a greeting from an ex-NBA player for his 36th birthday. Jamal Crawford, who played for 20 seasons and was named Sixth Man of the Year three times, shared his birthday greetings for KD on his IG stories.

KD and Jamal Crawford faced off against each other several times while the latter was still in the NBA. In total, they battled in 35 regular season games as well as six postseason matchups.
Out of these 35 regular season matchups, KD’s team won in 27. KD also won most of their matchups in the postseason (4-2).
