Teams around the league are putting the finishing touches to their rosters as we head towards training camp. The Miami Heat’s activity, or lack of it, this summer has left a lot to be desired.
The franchise appear to have made a late offseason addition to their roster though. It is one that is not expected to have a major impact but is a player who could be part of the rotation, especially with the Heat’s ability to get the best out of people.
According to Chris Haynes on X, free agent wing Nassir Little has reached an agreement on a one-year deal with the Heat.
Little spent last season with the Phoenix Suns. He made only two starts and averaged 10.2 minutes per game over the regular season.
Little had joined the Suns as part of the blockbuster three-team trade that saw Damian Lillard move to the Milwaukee Bucks to team up with Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Before that, Little spent four seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, who had drafted him 25th overall back in 2019.
The 2021-22 season was by far Little’s most productive one as he made 23 starts and averaged 25.9 minutes for the Trail Blazers while putting up 9.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 46% from the field and 33.1% from three-point range.
It would be safe to say that Little is not someone whose addition will excite the Heat fans or get them closer to being contenders.
He could be a solid rotational player though, which he was at his best for the Trail Blazers.
