Can Jets Trust New Tackle Duo to Contain Torrid 49ers’ Pass Rush?

Containing Nick Bosa is at the forefront of New York’s goals on offense for Monday night’s contest.

Nick Bosa is a former defensive player of the year, and a four-time Pro Bowler since joining the San Francisco 49ers five years ago.

As the New York Jets prepare for their Week 1 contest against the 49ers, they know containing Bosa is the central focus for the offense. After all, with Aaron Rodgers returning to the field, keeping him upright is all that matters – the rest will be figured out eventually.

With keeping Rodgers healthy the top priority, the Jets are set to rely on two aging tackles to not only protect their own aging signal-caller but keep one of the best defensive players in the league today in check.

Tyron Smith has plenty of history against Bosa due to his days with the Dallas Cowboys. The All-Pro blindside protector has held Bosa in check at times and given his team a chance throughout the years, despite the lack of victories.

Moses, on the other hand, has built a resume of solid football at the right tackle position despite never reaching a Pro Bowl. Together, the Jets will rely on their two veterans to stand out Monday night in Santa Clara.

If they can keep Bosa in check, the Jets could very will be in a position to succeed offensively against a top defense in San Francisco’s. If not, Rodgers and the offense could be in for a long night ahead.
