LeBron James’ performance vs. Serbia

LeBron James tipped off his 2024 Paris Olympics campaign with a 21-point outing against Nikola Jokic and Serbia. Alongside Kevin Durant, the duo went 13-of-13 at halftime from the field. James scored 12, making all five of his attempts. He added five assists before finishing with 21 points, seven rebounds and nine assists.

James had the second highest box +/- (+21), trailing Lakers teammate Anthony Davis’ +28. The four-time NBA MVP set the tone early, opening the scoring for the Americans, and continued to push the team’s offense in transition, where he thrived the most.

James balanced his duties as a scorer and facilitator well. However, he committed six turnovers. Team USA won the game 110-84.

LeBron James’ performance vs. South Sudan

LeBron James had an up-and-down outing in the second game against South Sudan as Team USA claimed a 103-86 win. He was a -7 on the floor, but James finished with 12 points on 5 of 9 shots, with seven rebounds and five assists. James had a less effective night from range as he missed all three 3-point attempts. Turnovers were also an issue for him, with six on the night.

South Sudan’s disruptive defense, pace, and athleticism were challenging for Team USA. However, James was arguably the best starter.

LeBron James’ performance vs. Puerto Rico

LeBron James produced another efficient outing in a limited playing time during USA’s 104-83 win over Puerto Rico. James was the best starter in a slow start for the Americans where they trailed 29-25 after the first quarter.

However, James impacted the game with his scoring and playmaking to get the USA back into this game.
