With the NFL offseason comes predictions and bold takes. That specifically happens with trades that could happen before the season or the deadline. With that in mind, CeeDee Lamb has become an intriguing trade option that has the potential to shake up the league. If he is traded, it will be to the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Dallas Cowboys have a big decision coming up that involves if they want to keep Dak Prescott or Lamb for the long haul. For Lamb, he should see the writing on the wall that Dallas is more than likely heading for a rebuild and not going to contend anytime soon. Thus, Lamb should get out in any way possible.
That ideal team is the Los Angeles Chargers. With a quarterback like Justin Herbert, Lamb would become his go-to target with his downfield speed and reliable catching ability. After the Chargers traded away Keenan Allen and cut Mike Williams, they are relying on two rookies in Brenden Rice and Ladd McConkey as Quinten Johnston has struggled with drops and creating separation. The Chargers are in a prime spot to contend, but need an experienced receiver to help on offense.
With Lamb, he brings the skills that the Chargers need along with 5,461 yards with 33 touchdowns, which includes three consecutive seasons with over 1,000 yards. With four years in the league, Lamb not only stabilizes the offense, but also will help provide knowledge to the rookie receivers and lessens the pressure on both McConkey and Rice as they adjust to the NFL.
For Dallas, they avoid the contract conflict with Lamb and can start their rebuild fully by acquiring draft capital. For the Chargers they fully get to contend this year and get a valuable receiver for Herbert to rely on and help the offense reach its full potential.
