Amy Jacobson, co-host of Chicago’s Morning Answer, has come under fire from Michael Jordan’s ex-wife Juanita Vanoy over some false reporting. Jacobson stated in a now-deleted post on X that Vanoy had been carjacked outside her home in Chicago by two black men and had some valuables stolen as well. The 65-year-old made it clear, though, that nothing of that sort happened.
Here is what Jacobson had reported in her now-deleted post.
I don’t live in Chicago
I don’t drive a Rolls Royce
2a. IF I owned a Rolls Royce, I would have a driver and security
Said driver and security would absolutely be strapped-TRUST!
If any of this were True…it would read 2 black male suspects shot and ….YKMYK
People, take it from…— Juanita Vanoy Jordan (@theonly1juanita) June 30, 2024
“Juanita Jordan, Michael Jordan’s ex-wife was carjacked outside her home in Chicago. Stolen: Her white Rolls Royce, gun, wallet and keys. Can you imagine if she was murdered? 2 black, male suspects being sought by police..”
Believe NONE of what you hear
Believe only HALF of what you see
As someone who has been covered by the media, know that most of what is written probably has not been fact-checked. If you don’t get information from the “source”, don’t believe it. VERIFY, VERIFY & VERIFY— Juanita Vanoy Jordan (@theonly1juanita) June 30, 2024
Jacobson also tagged TMZ on her post and I have to say, this was a terrible look for her. She clearly didn’t verify anything to not even know that Vanoy doesn’t reside in Chicago. You’d expect better from a journalist.
Vanoy wasn’t the only one to call her out either. Jasmine Jordan, her only daughter with Jordan, also blasted Jacobson on Instagram. Jasmine put up a screenshot of that deleted post and sent out a fiery message with it.

Jacobson certainly has to do better. It appears a white Rolls-Roye was indeed carjacked at gunpoint by two individuals last week, in a resident’s own driveway in the Beverly neighborhood in Chicago. Someone clearly assumed that Vanoy was the resident, but she wasn’t.
Juanita Vanoy Has Stayed Out Of The Spotlight Following Her Split From Michael Jordan
Vanoy met Jordan for the first time in 1985 in a restaurant in Chicago when the two were introduced to each other by some mutual friends. At some point after that, they started dating. On Nov. 18, 1988, the couple welcomed their first child together, a boy they named Jeffrey.
Just under a year later on Sept. 2, 1989, Jordan and Vanoy got married. Two more kids then followed, with Marcus being born on Dec. 24, 1990, and Jasmine on Dec. 7, 1992.
While Vanoy and Jordan would have dreamed of staying together for the rest of their lives, it wasn’t to be. She filed for divorce in 2002, but the couple managed to reconcile and stay together.
In 2006, though, both Jordan and Vanoy filed for divorce and stated it was amicable. She reportedly received a $168 million settlement following the split, with the amount being the largest celebrity divorce settlement on public record at the time.
Despite getting all that money, Vanoy chose to stay out of the spotlight. She currently operates a luxury clothing boutique called “Juanita Wear” and in 2022, also co-produced Broadway’s “Some Like It Hot.”
