Dallas Cowboys Safety Advocates for CeeDee Lamb to be Prioritized in Contract Talks
In the fiercely competitive world of the National Football League (NFL), where the quarterback and EDGE rusher often steal the spotlight, one voice from the Dallas Cowboys’ defense is making a case for wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to be at the forefront of contract extensions. Cowboys safety Malik Hooker, in a revealing discussion on “All Facts No Brakes” hosted by Keyshawn Johnson, shared his perspective on why Lamb should be the first Cowboy to secure his next deal.
Hooker, pondering the value Lamb brings to the team, argued, “I feel like CeeDee should be paid first for the simple fact of what he does for us, how valuable he is for us [and] the leader he is for us as a team.” He drew attention to the current NFL trend of rewarding high-performing wide receivers with lucrative contracts, suggesting that Lamb fits the bill due to his impactful plays and leadership.
“All these big-time receivers are getting paid. In my mind, CeeDee — I’m not saying he’s better than these guys, but I feel like he has shown up in certain situations more than these guys have.
… When he does get the ball thrown to him, it’s always a big play. It’s always something that’s electrifying for us as a team,” Hooker expressed.
The debate over who should be the next Cowboy to ink a significant deal doesn’t end with Lamb. Hooker broached the subject of veteran stars Dak Prescott, the team’s quarterback, and All-Pro guard Zack Martin.
Opinions on who should follow Lamb in the pecking order are mixed, but Hooker acknowledged Martin’s instrumental role in boosting the offense’s confidence. “You can interchange Zack and Dak at [No.]
